Variable rate applications

The right dose at the right time, at the right place

The variable rate applications are available with the NOVATOP or NOVATOP VISIO controller and a DGPS system.

The objective : to adjust the application rate, mainly with fertilizer, depending on the field heterogeneity.

2 methods existing on the market :

        1) Field mapping, a recommendation map needs to be loaded on the spraying modulated equipment. Field software is necessary with this method e.g.(SOYL)

A recommendation map is established thanks to soil analysis, production map, soil conductivity, or satellite pictures. Depending on the results, a fertilizer map is established.

In practice in the cab :

• When the recommendation map is established on the farm computer this one is stored on the USB stick, and then plugged into the NOVATOP or NOVATOP VISIO.
• In the cab, when the user arrives in the field, he needs to transfer the data stored on the stick to the regulation controller.
• The sprayer regulation automatically follows the recommendations card.

In practice in the field :

• Depending on the localization (GPS) in the field, the regulation system will adjust the right volume/Ha.

       2) Plant continuous analysis by fluorescence, Chlorophyll analysis

In practice in the field :

• A continuous analysis system (hydro N-Sensor) is installed on the tractor or self-propelled cab or on the boom. In the field, this system analyzes the vegetation conditions and adjusts the right volume.

In practice in the cab :

• The system located on the cab is connected to a control box which analyses the different results to establish the volume recommendation/Ha. This box is continuously connected in parallel with the sprayer regulation.
